Major General K.J.N.M.P.K. Navaratne, who recently assumed duties as the new Commander of the Jaffna Security Forces, met with the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, this morning – on Monday, 20 April 2026, at the Governor’s Secretariat.
This marked the first formal courtesy meeting between the Commander and the Hon. Governor since the former assumed duties as the Commander of the Jaffna District Security Forces.
During the meeting, cordial discussions took place between the two, and the Hon. Governor extended his congratulations to the Commander on his new appointment. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Commander also presented a commemorative memento to the Governor.
