The first session of ‘Golden Voice of the North 2019’ – singing competition has been commenced today (05) under the patronage of Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan at the auditorium of Jaffna Public Library.
In order to encourage the Northern musicians, Governor Secretariat of Northern Province along with the Provincial Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs organized this competition under the guidance of the Governor.
The South Indian Cinema Directors ‘Iyakkunar Imaiyam’ Barathirajah and Ameer participated in this event as chief guests.
A large number of participants between the ages of 15 and 30 from all five districts of Northern Province enthusiastically participated in this competition. The selection programme was held at two centres; Jaffna Public Library and Vadamaradchi Hindu Ladies College.
