The repairing works of 8 sluice-gates of Vadamaradchi fishermen are going on. Governor paid an inspection visit to the place and had a discussion with the workers and the fishermen.
The Governor also visited North Point and met the Chairman of Vadamaradchi Fisheries Societies’ Federation, Presidents of Fishermen’s Societies and the fishermen of the area.
The Federation had requested the Governor to take steps to repair 16 sluice gates. Accordingly, 2 million rupees has been allocated to repair 8 gates in the first phase.
