ToT Workshop on Parenting and Gender Issues Awareness

“Every parent today faces a myriad of psychological challenges in their daily lives, including stress, lack of parenting knowledge, difficulty in managing family finances, and the inability to understand and accommodate their children’s emotional states.

Beyond these, societal ills related to gender, substance abuse, and the negative impacts of technology (such as mobile phones and the internet) have led to severe psychological struggles for individuals in society. To address this, a four-day awareness training workshop was conducted at the Nallur Pradeshiya sabha conference hall under the guidance of Mr. P. Vageshan, Secretary Ministry of Women’s Affairs, NPC and headed by Ms.Rajamalligai Sivasuntharasarma, Assistant Secretary. The workshop, conducted for 29 officials from the Northern Province, was held in two phases: the first from the 3rd to the 4th of October, and the second from the 23rd to the 25th.

Notably, the workshop was facilitated by experts Dr. Kanagarathnam Sivasothan (DMO- Amban Divisional Hospital) and Dr. Josephine Sivashankar (Community consultant on Physician, Office of the Regional Director of the Health Services, Kilinochchi) provided valuable insights.
