The Thai Pongal festival was celebrated by Provincial Ministry of Education at Mallavi Yogambikai Samedha Yogapuranathar Temple on 18th January 2019.
Assistant Director of Mrs. Sujeeva Sivathas headed the event. A documentary film – Bandaravanniyan was screened and the artists of the film were felicitated.
Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan graced the event as the Chief Guest. Parliamentarian Shanthi Sriskantharajah, former Provincial Councilors, Chairmen of Pradeshiya Sabha, Secretary to the Governor L.Ilaangovan, Secretary of Education Ministry S.Sathiyaseelan, Additional Government Agent Thanabalasingam, Divisional Secretaries, Cultural Officers, artists and a large number of public also took part in this event.
