A power loom production center, constructed by the Department of Industries, Northern Province at Thumpalai South, Point Pedro was ceremonially declared open on 29th October 2020. This center was constructed at a cost of 4.93 Mn rupees under PSDG. Secretary of Women’s Affair Ministry Mrs. Roobini Varathalingam and Divisional Secretary of Point Pedro Mr. Alvarpillai Sri participated as guests and jointly declared open the building complex.
Director of Industries Department Mrs. Vanaja Selvaratnam, Accountant Mr. P.Kandeepan, Assistant Secretary of Women’s Affair Ministry, Planning Director, Assistant Divisional Secretary of Point Pedro DS Office, officers from the relevant officers, the members of Rural Development Societies, weavers, and well-wishers also participated in this event.
