The opening ceremony of handloom weaving gallery organized by Provincial Department of Industries with the sponsorship of Chrysalis Organization was held at No. 505, Point Pedro Road, Nallur on 18th August 2019 under the patronage of Provincial Director of Industries K.Srimohanan.
Secretary of Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs R.Varatheeswaran participated in this event and ceremonially opened the gallery. Secretary of Provincial Council Secretariat Mrs. Roobini Varathalingam, Assistant Secretary of Provincial Education Ministry Mrs. Anjali Santhaseelan, Provincial Director of Irrigation Eng. V.Premkumar, Chief Accountant of Women’s Affairs Ministry S.Vishnukumar, Chief Engineer of Jaffna District Office of Irrigation Department Eng.S.Sarvarajah and officers of Industries Department also participated.
This handloom emporium is displaying and selling sarees, bedsheets, towels, pillow covers, dhotis, sarongs, tablecloths, hand-loomed sarees, and many other products manufactured by Northern handloom weavers.
