The Northern Provincial International Industrial Exhibition organized by the Department of Industries under the guidance of Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan to increase foreign market opportunities for Local Manufacturers was held at the Veerasingam Hall in Jaffna at 9.30 am on 31st October 2019.
The event was headed by the Secretary to the Governor of Northern Province S. Sathiyaseelan. Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Mr. Tan Yang Thai, Chairman of Malaysia- Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Dato. S. Kulasekaran, Secretary to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs R.Varatheeswaran, Provincial Director of Industries Department K. Srimohanan graced the event as special guests. Dr. Akhilan Kadirgamar, Regional Manager of the Central Bank B. Sivadeepan participated as the resource persons. At the event, the products of 79 entrepreneurs from the Northern Province were showcased and introduced to Malaysian investors.
The Business Forum was held at the Jaffna Public Library Auditorium at 2.00 pm. Entrepreneurs from the Northern Province met with the Malaysian delegation at the event. Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan interacted through digital communication. All arrangements for these events were carried out by the Provincial Department of Industries.
