Hon. Governor of Northern Province N. Vethanayahan personally visited and inspected the activities of the Kilinochchi Network for Persons with Special Needs this evening – on Friday 20 March 2026.
The Governor proceeded to the head office of the said network located in Barathipuram, Kilinochchi, and personally traveled to the five different homes operating under this organization. He met with the persons with special needs residing there and inquired about their well-being.
During this visit, the Governor held detailed discussions with the administrators regarding the basic needs of the organization and the facilities available there. In addition, the challenges currently faced by the network in the present circumstances, day-to-day maintenance issues, and the infrastructure expansion works that need to be undertaken in the future were brought to the Governor’s attention.
Having personally assessed the conditions of the organization, the Governor stated that he would pay special attention to providing possible assistance and cooperation necessary for the continued operations of the said network.
The District Secretary of Kilinochchi District and the Divisional Secretary of Karaichchi Division were also present during this special field visit by the Governor.
