The meeting between Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan and the Head of the South Asia Department of Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London, Mr. Fergus Auld OPE, took place today (Oct. 30) at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London.
During the meeting, the Governor of the Northern Province briefed the activities that are being carried out by him as the Governor of the Northern Province in order to bring the Northern Province on the development path.
He also called for the coordination and cooperation of the British Government to take the Northern Province further on the path of development.
At the same time, Mr. Fergus said he welcomed the change in the development and structure of the Northern Province over the past months, also adding that the slow change in the Northern Province would strengthen the confidence in Sri Lanka’s democracy. At the same time, he added that Britain is always ready to assist Sri Lanka in establishing democracy as a country that always relies on democracy.
