A ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the District Training Center of SMART SRI LANKA Project was held at the premises of Jaffna Divisional Secretariat today (11). Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan participated as the Chief Guest and laid the foundation stone. SMART SRI LANKA Project has been initiated by Presidential Secretariat under the vision of His Excellency President Maithripala Sirisena to provide carrier guidance to the unemployed youth in Sri Lanka.
This two-story building complex is to be constructed at a cost of 25 Million rupees. It will assist and provide guidance to the youth to get job opportunities in Jaffna.
Throughout Sri Lanka, 6 Training Centers of this project have been declared open by the President in 6 districts.
It should be noted that the former Parliamentarian Eric Veerawardane is the Director of SMART SRI LANKA Project.
