The foundation stone laying ceremony for the cardiology unit and kidney disease units in Vavuniya Hospital was held on 14th August 2019. These unit will be constructed with the assistance of the Netherlands Government.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe participated as Chief Guest, at the invitation of the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senerathne. Also Deputy Ambassador, Mrs. Eva van Woersem, Parliamentarians, Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan, Project officials from Netherlands, Director – Provincial Health, Medical Officers and nurses also participated in this event.
