Under the PSDG – 2025 Annual Programme, a field day on Green gram cultivation using sprinkler irrigation was successfully conducted on 30.03.2026 at Kanagampikaikulam. The programme was held at the field of farmer Mr. S. Muthulingam under the leadership of Mrs. Pradeepan Sivaniya.
The Chief Guest of the event was Mrs. S. Vijayathasan, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Kilinochchi. Subject Matter Officers, farmer organization members, and a large number of farmers also participated in the programme.
During the field day, information was provided to farmers on Green gram varieties MI6 and MIMB 7, including their characteristics, cultivation practices, maintenance, and harvesting techniques.
In addition, under the PSDG – 2026 crop diversification programme, inputs such as Black gram (MIMB 4) and Green gram (MI6) were distributed to 40 farmers. The programme concluded successfully with a field visit.
