Discussion with the Secretaries of the Ministries was held on 11th of June 2021 at 11 am at Governor’s Secretariat under the Chairmanship of Governor of the Northern Province Hon.Mrs.P.S.M Charles. The current status of Finance, Administration, Establishment, Personal development, and training was discussed in detail. The Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, the Secretary to the Governor, Assistant Secretary to the Governor, Secretaries of Education, Health, Agriculture, Local Government, and Women’s Affairs, Accountants, Internal Auditors were also present at the discussion.
Honorable Governor inquired about the status of Education, Health, Agriculture, Local Government and Women’s Affairs from Provincial Secretaries and questioned the respective authorities, If the private contractors have the capability of completing the construction works within the time frame, why It was impossible for the contractors of the Government sector. The Honorable Governor instructed the particular authorities, even if they fail to submit the progress report within one month transfer the funds to other project works.
Further, She advised the authorities to follow the Health protocols during construction works, arrange accommodation for laborers, ensure the availability of raw materials within the time frame in this Covid-19 pandemic situation, and focus on the challenges faced during the Education activities through Zoom technology.
