Batik Training Center opened in Pungudutivu, Jaffna

A new Batik Training Center was declared open in Pungudutive, Jaffna on 05th February 2021. This training center has been established under the scheme of 200 Batik Industry Training Centers on the principle of the ‘productive citizen, happy family, disciplined and ethical society, and prosperous nation’ which comes under His Excellency President’s National Policy Framework, “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour”.

Hon. State Minister of Batik, Handloom Fabric & Local Apparel Products Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Hon. Governor of Northern Province Mrs. PSM Charles and Jaffna Parliamentarian Mr. Angajan Ramanathan participated as special guests. Govt. Agent of Jaffna, Secretary of Northern Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Secretary to the Governor, and other relevant officials also took part in this event.

Addressing the gathering, the Hon. Governor pointed out that the State Minister is able to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to him in the most efficient manner and during his discussion with him yesterday, he stated his plans on how to transform and develop the textile industry.
