A review meeting with the Secretaries of the Ministries representing Northern Province was held on 12th of May 2021 at 10 am at Conference Hall of the Governor’s Secretariat under the Chairmanship of Governor of the Northern Province Hon.Mrs.P.S.M Charles.
The Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, the Secretary to the Governor, Assistant Secretary to the Governor, the Coordinating Secretary to the Governor, the Secretaries of the Ministries, the commissioner of Local Authority and Heads of the Department were also present at the meeting.
They discussed about the current status of Planning, Finance, Administration, Establishment, Personnel development and training and progress and performance of the Ministries in detail and reviewed about the Province Specific Development Grant and Criteria based grant to the sectors of Education, Health, Agriculture, Women’s affairs and Local government and inquired about the progress of them.
Then, Hon’ble Governor inquired about the Intermediate Care Centers for COVID-19 in Northern Province and advised the authorities to annex volunteer personnel to increase the samplings in order to prevent the community spread of COVID 19 and it would be helpful to trace the variant in a cluster.
Hon’ble Governor requested the respective authorities to obtain the task report while recruiting any staff and instructs them to provide promotion and increment by reviewing the progress of it. Further, Hon’ble Governor inquired about the results of G.C.E A/L examination and instructs the respective authorities to take proper measures to improve the lower graded subjects. Further, she insisted that all the negative thoughts should be erased out to develop the society.
