A discussion on the release of the lands used by army, police and other departments in Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi districts to the public was held under the chairmanship of Governor of Northern Province Dr.Suren Raghavan at Kilinochchi District Secretariat today (12).
The first phase of the discussion was held by the Governor on the instructions of His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena.
Governor mentioned that district-wise committees comprising representatives from army, police, departments, and public will be formed to identify the lands and collect the details. Based on the details, the next meeting will be held coming 26th September at District Secretariat.
Governor also informed that if the owners live in abroad, they are requested to register their lands immediately.
