The opening ceremony the new building of Irrigation Engineer’s Office for Muttaiyankattu region of Mullaitivu district was held on 17th February 2020. Governor of Northern Province PSM Charles participated as Chief Guest and declared opening the building.
This office was operating with various requirements and now it has been constructed at a cost of 15 Mn rupees allocated under Criteria Based Grant for the year 2018. In the second phase, 5.3 Mn rupees was allocated under CBG for the year 2019 for the completion of the building.
Deputy Director of Irrigation, Mullaitivu District Eng. N.Suthakaran headed this event. Chief Secretary of Northern Province A.Pathinathan, Divisional Secretary of Oddusuddan T.Ahilan, Military Officials, Police Officials, officials from Irrigation Department and representatives of Farmers’ Societies also participated in this event.
