Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Arjuna Ranatunga and Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan paid an inspection visit to Jaffna International Airport today (12).
Jaffna International Airport is to be officially declared open coming 17th under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe.
Governor said that it is a huge post-war development project. It will set a path to the diaspora to come straight back into their soil and ease to meet their relatives. Initially, 7 flights to Tamil Nadu will be operated from here. The step to increase the service to 12 per week is in process.
