People’s Representatives of Maravanpulavu meet Governor

People’s representatives of Maravanpulavu village met Governor of Northern Province, Dr. Suren Raghavan yesterday (18) at Chief Minister’s Secretariat which is located at Kaithady.

The people of Maravanpulavu waged a vigilant protest today in front of the Chief Secretary’s Secretariat against the windmills installed in the residential area. Subsequently, a meeting in this regard was held between Governor, Government Agent of Jaffna, the officials from the Urban Development Authority, Divisional Secretary, the Chairman of Pradeshiya Sabha and five people’s representatives.

Governor said that it has been decided to have a talk with the Ceylon Electricity Board in this regard on 24th September.

He instructed to Pradeshiya Sabha to identify other suitable places to install the windmills.
