Under the accelerated program of His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena, public and private lands in Jaffna district used by security forces and police are identified and handed over to the owners as per the direction of the Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan.
Governor has already taken steps to identify the private lands in the Jaffna District and speedily return them to the owners for which the claim forms are being collected from them.
The next step of this programme will be releasing the lands used by tri-forces in other districts. The landowners are requested to give the details of the lands and if the owners are in abroad, they are also asked to identify their lands.
We kindly request the landowners to complete the specially prepared application form with the appropriate proof or explanation to claim their land.
The application form can be obtained from the Governor’s Secretariat, Jaffna District Secretariat, Divisional Secretariat, and Northern Provincial Council Website www.np.gov.lk.
Applicants are requested to forward the completed application form along with a copy of the land documents to ‘Land Request’, Governor’s Secretariat, Old Park, Chundikuli, Jaffna before 20th September.
