“Joint Industrial Hands” – Exhibition and Workshop for small industrial entrepreneurs was held at Jaffna Veerasingam Hall from 16th February 2019 to 17th February 2019.
In order to encourage the small industrial entrepreneurs and create new entrepreneurs, Jaffna Rotary Club organized this event in association with the Non-Formal Education Unit of Provincial Ministry of Education. It was sponsored by Indian Consulate, Jaffna and co-sponsored by Provincial Department of Industries. 17 industrial manufacturers with types of machinery from India conducted this workshop to 450 industrial entrepreneurs for two days. Certificates for those who completed the training were bestowed at the end of the training.
Indian Consul, Jaffna Shree Shankar Balachandran, Chairman of Northern Provincial Council C.V.K.Sivagnanam, Mayor of Jaffna Municipal Council Immanuel Arnold, Deputy Chief Secretary – Administration Mrs. Saraswathi Mohanathan, Acting Director of Provincial Industrial Department Mrs. Vanaja Selvaratnam and Chairman of Jaffna Rotary Club S.D.Prashanthan also participated in this event.
Industrial sectors included in the workshop were:
- Preparation method of chapathi by machine.
- Method of peeling chicken by machine.
- Method of cutting manioc by machine.
- Method of cutting banana flower by machine.
- Method of scraping coconut by machine.
- Easy method of tree climbing
- Banana fibre extracting by machine.
- Vehicle service by machine.
- Method of making paper bags.
- Method of producing oil by machine.
- Method of grinding grains in a small amount.
