A progress discussion between the Northern Province Cooperative Employees Commission and the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, was held this evening – on Monday 17 August 2026, at the Governor’s Secretariat.
During this meeting, a detailed review was conducted on the actions taken and the progress made regarding the matters discussed at the previous meeting.
Furthermore, a detailed discussion was held regarding the draft review of the qualifications of cooperative employees prepared by the Northern Province Cooperative Employees Commission. Views were exchanged on the review procedure concerning the qualifications of cooperative employees, its requirements, and the next steps to be taken.
In addition, the draft prepared regarding the salary review for cooperative employees was also discussed in detail during this discussion. Proposals relating to the salary review were considered, taking into account matters related to the employees’ job qualifications and service conditions.
The Chairman and members of the Northern Province Cooperative Employees Commission, the Secretary to the Governor of the Northern Province, the Secretary of the Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the Commissioner of the Provincial Department of Cooperative Development of Northern Province and the Secretary of the Cooperative Employees Commission of the Northern Province participated in this discussion.
