On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I am honored to extend my warmest greetings and deepest respect to the women of our Northern Province, as well as to women across the world.
In our war-affected Northern land, the role of women extends far beyond the responsibilities of managing a household; it is also a history marked by unparalleled sacrifice. Our province is home to a significant number of female-headed families. Despite the loss of the family’s primary breadwinner and the many hardships they have endured, these families have continued to stand strong and function to this day. The principal reason for this resilience is the remarkable determination, strength, and leadership demonstrated by our women. The sacrifices they make each day for the future of their children and for the well-being and continuity of our society are truly beyond words.
At the same time, on this day, I deeply feel the profound pain of our sisters who, bearing the scars of war, continue to grieve the loss of their beloved relatives and search for them with tears in their eyes. Their long struggle and unwavering determination in seeking truth and justice for their loved ones stand as a powerful testament to the resilience and strength of womanhood. On this day, it is my heartfelt prayer that your wounds may heal and that you may find peace of mind in your just quest. The Provincial Administration will always stand with you, sharing your pain and supporting you in your journey.
International Women’s Day is not merely a one-day celebration observed on March 8. Rather, it represents a continuous journey to ensure women’s rights, equality, economic independence, and social security throughout the year. Recognizing women as equal partners in society and empowering them in all spheres of life is the true hallmark of a civilized and progressive society.
On this auspicious day, I wish to assure you that the Northern Provincial Administration will continue to work with dedication for the economic and social advancement of the women of our province, especially those who lead their families with courage and resilience.
On this International Women’s Day, I extend my heartfelt wishes to all our sisters who face hardships with bravery, break barriers with determination, and stand upright—pure as a lotus leaf and strong as iron. May you all have a meaningful and empowering International Women’s Day.
