Solution to the Long-Standing Transport Issue of the Public

To address long-standing transportation difficulties faced by the public, construction work on a box culvert and an access road is underway promptly at a cost of Rs. 200 million at the Ambalapperumal Tank area where transport is completely blocked every year between December and February due to the tank overflowing.

These works were initiated upon a request made by the public to the Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, during his field visit to the area in 2025. Under the Governor’s directive, the Road Development Department is currently implementing the project.

Meanwhile, inspecting the construction site in person yesterday (22.10.2026), the Governor commended the officials of Road Development Department for efficiently carrying out the development works and instructed them to complete the project as soon as possible to hand it over for public use.
