The book launching ceremony of “Veeramani Iyer’s Essays (Volume-1)” published by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs, Northern Province will be held on December 13, 2021, at 3.00 pm in the hall of the Ministry of Education. Sujeewa Sivadas led them.
Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture Mr. A. Sivapalasundaran graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Secretary to the Ministry of Education Mr. E. Ilangovan was also present.
Veeramani Iyer’s wife was also present and was felicitated by the Department of Cultural Affairs. Lifetime Professor P. Balasundaram Pillai, Prof. A. Sanmugathasand Dr. Manonmani Sanmugathas also graced the occasion. Senchorselvar Mr. Aru Thirumurugan also attended and congratulated the event. Professors, dance lecturers, teachers, and artists attended and were featured.
The event began with a keynote address by the Deputy Director, Department of Cultural Affairs. , Poet So.Padmanathan and (Retired Principal Palali Teacher Training College) The introductory speech was given by Dr. Krishanthi Ravindra (Managing Director in the costume of Nattiyakkala Kendra) and Mr. T. Selvamanokaran (Lecturer, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Jaffna). The event concluded today with a vote of thanks from Mr. S. Srikumaran (Assistant Director of Education).
