A team led by Vice-Chancellor Arulambalam Aumurarajah of Vavuniya University held a discussion with Hon. Governor of Northern Province, N. Vethanayagan, regarding the challenges currently faced by Vavuniya University. The meeting was held on Thursday, 5th December 2024, at the Governor’s Secretariat, focusing on addressing key issues to improve the university's development.
The university representatives discussed the need for hostel accommodations for students and staff. They also held talks with the Governor about acquiring land for these purposes. Additionally, they requested the Governor’s assistance in securing donations to fund the construction of new buildings for the university. Furthermore, they discussed a proposal to the Governor for establishing a new faculty at the university in Mannar district.
In this discussion, Mr. Nadarajah Rajavishagan, Registrar of Vavuniya University, and Mrs. Thavakiruba Piranavamalar, Assistant Registrar, Administration Branch of Vavuniya University were also present.
