Cataract surgery for 1253 patients was carried out at Vavuniya District General Hospital last month. Patients from Mannar, Vavuniya Mullaitivu and Anuradhapuram districts benefited from this eye camp.
The camp was held under the guidance of the Honorable Governor of Northern Province and with the support of the Consulate General of India. This camp was sponsored by the Malaysian Alaka and Ananda Foundations with the coordination of Assist RR (UK & SL). The surgeries were performed by three eye surgeons from India and three eye surgeons from our country. The Northern Health Department would like to express its sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of this treatment eye camp.
