With the intension of honoring best farmers selected at in district level and national level an awarding ceremony was organized at the District Agriculture Training Centre by the Office of the Deputy Provincial Director of Agriculture, Vavuniya on 31st May 2019. All together 120 winners from all over Vavuniya district were honored during this event. The winners had been selected under four categories, home gardening, organic farming, mango cultivation and pineapple cultivation.
At district level , under the category of best home gardener Mrs.I.Makeswary had won the first Place, under the category of best organic farmer K.Tharmalingam had won the first place, under the category of best pineapple cultivator Mrs.S.Rathidevi had been selected for the first place and under the category of best mango cultivator S.Sivarasa had won the first place. In addition at the national level competition Mrs.P.Piriyatharsini had won the 7th place under the category of best home gardener .
This event conducted successfully under the chairmanship of Assistant Director of Agriculture Mrs.S.Jegatheeswary.
