Due to continuous heavy rains in the Northern Province, dry rations packages are being continuously provided to the affected people and necessary security measures are being taken. Many non-governmental and private organizations are involved in disaster relief work through the supervision of the Honorable Governor of the Northern Province, P.S.M. Charles.
In that way, an inauguration event to provide dry rations packages worth ten thousand American dollars (USD 10,000) to one thousand affected families was held yesterday (23.12.2023) at the Northern Province Governor’s Secretariat through Lions Clubs International.
These dry rations packs will be provided to one thousand families from Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu and Mannar districts who are facing the most damage due to floods, on the basis of three thousand two hundred and fifty rupees (3,250/=) each.
The inauguration ceremony held at the Northern Province Governor’s Secretariat was attended by the President’s Northern Province Coordinating Secretary Mr. L.Ilangovan, Northern Province Governor’s Assistant Secretary Mr.G.Ekanthan and Lions Clubs International District 306 B1 Governor Placidus M. Peter and many other members of the organization.
