Tourism is a lifeline of North – Northern Province Governor

A seminar on “Marketing techniques to motivate the hoteliers to manage the current situation” was held under the patronage of Northern Province Governor Dr. Suren Raghavan on 31st May 2019 at Jaffa Tilko Hotel. Northern Province Tourism Bureau organized this event.

In his address, Governor said that The Northern Province is the only province that functions independently. When we develop our province, we can develop our community too.

I welcome and appreciate the hoteliers who invested in Northern Province. They are the lifeline and blood vessel of the province. Sri Lanka is a magnificent tourist destination. A tourist who travels in Sri Lanka feels variance in every two hours of his or her journey and passes through the different climatic atmosphere and various natural places such as aqua resources, forests, mountains, valleys, lakes and other natural sceneries.

By developing the tourism sector in our area, more job opportunities are created for many youths in the province. Especially, it has been planned to provide special training to the tourist guides. There is no doubt Sri Lanka will capture a very significant place in future tourism. Governor also added.

Chairman of Northern Province Tourism Bureau K.Thevaraja, Director of Northern Province Tourism Bureau P.Jeyaraja and a large number of hoteliers and lodge owners also participated in this seminar.
