The Walk for Road Safety Week held today

“The open space is the place to see the decor of a community. The roads and streets are now the main attraction of the open space.” Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan said.

The rally to mark the Road Safety Week which was jointly organized by Governor Secretariat, Road Safety Council and Road Passengers Transport Authority was commenced under the patronage of the Head of Road Safety Council at 9.00 am from Governor’s Secretariat to Duraiyappa Stadium. While addressing to the gatherings, Governor mentioned above.

It should be noted that the Walk for Road Safety Week was held in all the districts of the Northern Province at 9.00 am under the patronage of respective District Secretaries.

“Our roads should be protected. The people travel along the roads should also be protected. On the basis of that, our civilization must be protected. Open space is the place to see the decor of a community. Roads and streets are now the main attraction of open space. The road accidents frequently occur at triple and quadruple junctions. We have to find a solution for the accidents caused by stray cattle and street dogs.” He also added.

Whether we have fallen, brought down or living on the brink, this is evidence that the civilization we are building must be profound.

A large number of students, university students, nursing students, Chairman of Northern Province Transport Authority, Director of Road Development Department, Commissioner of Motor Traffic Department, Chief Secretary of Northern Province, Heads of Department, Government Officials, Senior DIG of Northern Province and police officials also participated in this walk.
