Based on the results of the 2025 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination released on yeaterday, T. Thirukumaran, a student of Kilinochchi Maha Vidyalayam, who achieved the top rank nationally in the Mathematics stream, was met in person and congratulated by the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan.
Today – on Wednesdat, 01 April 2026, the Hon. Governor and the Kilinochchi District Secretary, S. Muralitharan, visited Kilinochchi Maha Vidyalayam, where they were welcomed by the school principal, Mrs. I. Nimalraj.
While T. Thirukumaran from this school achieved national-level distinction in the Mathematics stream, A. Krishonth in the Biology stream and Miss K. Mathumini in the Commerce stream secured first place at the district level, bringing pride to the school. The Governor praised these high-achieving students and also engaged in discussions with their parents, teachers, and alumni who contributed to their success.
Commending the students for achieving remarkable success through hard work and self-effort, the Governor stated with pride, “A student from Kilinochchi District securing first place at the national level marks the beginning of a new chapter in the educational history of the province.” He further emphasized that “these outstanding students should serve as role models for others and act as guides for future candidates appearing for examinations.” The Governor also highly appreciated the teachers who guided these students.
