It is noteworthy that the livelihood assistance schemes for women-headed households and Women entrepreneurs in the Jaffna District, organized by the Northern Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs, took place at our Ministry on 18th October 2025.
The event was chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. M. Nanthagopalan, and with the participation of the Hon.Ramalingam Chandrasekarar, Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic Resources, and Ocean Resources and Chairman of the Jaffna and Kilinochchi District Coordinating Committees, as well as the Hon. Member of Parliament, Mr. K. Ilankumaran.
During the event, livelihood assistance schemes, including sewing machines and goat rearing assistance, were distributed to 53 beneficiaries selected in the second phase in the Jaffna District for women entrepreneurs.
Also, the Assistant Secretary of the Northern Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the Accountant of the Northern Provincial Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Divisional Secretariat officers, and other Ministry officials participated and graced the event.
