Honourable Governor of Northern Province P.S.M. Charles said that in the situation of building ethnic harmony in the country, activities are being carried out to disrupt unity among religions. The Honorable Governor said this while giving Donations to the places of worship in order to promote religious harmony.
The event of handing over Donations to places of religious worship under the quota of the Honorable Governor of the Northern Province was held today (09.01.2024) at the Secretariat of the Governor of the Northern Province. Donations to Nallur North Chandrasekhara Pillaiyar Temple, Avarangal Shiva Temple, Jaffna Sri Naga Viharai, Ilavalai St. Philipparis Church were distributed by the Honorable Governor.
The Honorable Governor, who distributed the Donation, interacted with the visiting religious leaders and the temple management. She said that conflict between religions should not be allowed and religious unity is necessary to build the economy.
After hearing the views of the honourable governor, the religious leaders congratulated the honourable governor for her efforts to build religious harmony and inter-ethnic unity. They also said that they would give their full cooperation to these activities.
