The second day of events of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Annual Sports Meet for the year 2025 was held with great splendour this evening – on Sunday 18 January 2026, at the Durayappa Stadium in Jaffna.
The Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Following the commencement of the sports meet yesterday – Saturday afternoon, under the chairmanship of the Director of the National Cadet Corps, Major General A. P. K. Premathilake, today’s second-day events were conducted under the patronage of the Governor.
Upon his arrival at the stadium, the Governor was ceremonially welcomed by officers of the National Cadet Corps. This was followed by an inspection of the ceremonial parade.
A variety of competitions showcasing the sporting talents of the cadets were held during the event.
A large gathering, including senior officers of the National Cadet Corps, instructors, school principals, teachers, students, and parents, was present at the occasion.
