With the objective of creating awareness for controlling fall armyworm Provincial Department of Agriculture has started implementing various awareness programs. As one of such programmes, a rally was started from Visuvamadu on 30.01.2019 at 9.00 am reached Redbana Junction through Parnthan-Mullaitivu A-35 Road at 10.30 am.
The rally proceeded under chairmanship of Deputy Provincial Director of Agriculture P.Uganathan with the participation of District Director of Agriculture R.Kokulathasan, Samurthy Director Mrs.K.Jeya Bavani, Puthukkudiyiruppu Divisional Secretary M.Piretheepan, Agrarian Development Officer N.Sundaramoorthy, Staffs of Provincial Department of Agriculture including Development Officers Subject Matter Officers, Agriculture Instructors and Technical Assistants, Farmers and general public. Altogether more than 150 persons participated in the rally .In addition, street drama was performed in conjunction with the rally.
