Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Northern Province Mr. A.Sivabalasundaran, Provincial Director of Agriculture, Northern Province Mr. S.Sivakumar and other relevant officials made a field visit to Mannar District on 27th July 2020 to inspect the Other Field Crops Fields established with the support of Saubhagya Programme implemented by Provincial Department of Agriculture during Yala 2020 at Uyirtharasankulam village in Mathoddam AI range.
In Yala 2020, crop diversification with Other Field Crops in this Yala has been undertaken in large scale for the first time. 50 farmers have cultivated green gram, black gram, ground nut, gingely and red onion together in an extent of 40 acres.
