Event of Awarding Ceremony for artists and the Audio Launch of Kanthapuranam
Event of the cultural festival, awarding ceremony to honour the artists for the year of 2021 and audio launch of kanthapuranam was held on Saturday, the 18th of December 2021 at 2.00 pm, conducted by the Department of Cultural Affairs of Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs- Northern Province. And Mr.L. Ilaangavan, The Secretary of the Ministry of Education presided over the event.
Mr.S.M.Saman Bandulasena, The Chief Secretary of Northern Province graced the event as the chief guest. And Prof.A.Sanmugadas, Dr.Mrs.Manonmany Sanmugadas, Prof N.nSanmugalingam and Mr,T.Jeyaseelan, The commissioner of Jaffna Municipal Council also graced the event as guests.
Selected senior artists who contributed to the arts field in Northern Province have been awarded as “Kalaikurisil” and the Junior artists have been also awarded as “Ilam Kalaignar”. The best book award has been provided to the selected books, which were published in the year 2020.
In this event, “Kanthapurana padanam” audio launch and “Vadanthai” the book of the Department of Cultural Affairs have been launched. Artists and staff of the Department of Cultural Affairs also attended and graced the event.
