Newly appointed Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police for Northern Province Ravi Wijegunawardena called on Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan on 28th May 2019 at Governor’s Secretariat, Jaffna.
Their discussion focused on the current situation of Northern Province and measures to control the illegal activities in Northern Province. Governor pointed out that the Jaffna Peninsula has witnessed the many anti-social activities and requested the Senior DIG to take immediate steps to control them.
Governor also requested him to focus on the action against illegal sand mining activities. Finally, he asked him that the Northern Province Police should carry out a work plan with the security forces to ensure the security of the north people without creating any inconveniences to their day-to-day activities.
