A farewell and felicitation ceremony in honor of Mr. M. Kirubasuthan, who served as Deputy Chief Secretary – Planning of the Northern Province and retired on 06.10.2025, was held today – on Wednesday, 08th of October 2025, at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Chief Secretary, Northern Province, under the patronage of Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan.
The guest of honor was escorted to the stage along with his spouse, following which the stage events took place.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon. Governor stated: “In the planning service, a senior officer with 22 years of experience is retiring today. He is someone who, in any discussion, never hesitated to express his views boldly and fearlessly. He has spoken out courageously for the development of our province. When entrusted with a responsibility, he is capable of carrying it out successfully.
During our time in service, we faced many pressures. I know well the kinds of challenges he too encountered. After retirement, he should now focus on his health and spend a happy life with his family. I wish him a long and joyful retired life,” said the Governor.
This event was organized by the Welfare Society of the Office of the Deputy Chief Secretary – Planning. The ceremony was attended by the Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, Secretary to the Governor, Secretaries of Ministries, Deputy Chief Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and officers of the Office of the Deputy Chief Secretary – Planning.
