The monthly discussion to review the financial and physical progress of the projects implemented this year under the Ministry of Health, Indigenous Medicine, Probation and Child Care Services of the Northern Province was held at the Governor’s Secretariat today, Tuesday (15.07.2025) under the chairmanship of Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan.
Speaking at the outset of the discussion, the Governor emphasized that despite the shortage of human and physical resources, there must be no compromise in delivering services to the public. He stressed the importance of mobilizing available resources to provide the highest standard of service, adding that it is the responsibility of departmental heads to ensure this.
The progress of the projects of each department, namely the Department of Health, the Department of Indigenous Medicine, and the Department of Probation and Child Care, was discussed in detail. The challenges encountered were also examined, and appropriate solutions were proposed.
The discussion was attended by the Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, Secretary to the Governor of the Northern Province, Secretary to the Ministry of Health of the Northern Province, Deputy Chief Secretary – Finance, Deputy Chief Secretary – Planning, the Commissioner of the Department of Indigenous Medicine, the Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Probation and Child Care, the Regional Directors of Health Services of each district, and the Director of the Department of Buildings.
