Ministry of Women’s Affairs distributed livelihood assistance in the kind worth of Rs.281,988 to two women societies whose members are from women-headed families in Thumpalai and Vallipuram villages under the CBG allocations of the provincial council. This function was held at Point Pedro Divisional Secretariat on 19th September 2019 under the Chairmanship of the Secretary of Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Cooperative, Industries, and Social Service R. Varatheeswaran. The machinery and kitchen utensils worth Rs.178,591.50 were handed over to the president of Thirumal Women’s Society and Furniture vessels and equipment worth Rs.103,396.50 were handed over to the president of Abirami Women’s Society. Divisional Secretary Point Pedro Alvapillai Siri, officials from Women’s Affairs Ministry and members of both societies also participated at this program.
