The Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, and the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, N. Vethanayahan, undertook an inspection visit to Tellippalai Base Hospital this evening – on Friday 18 September 2026.
During this visit, the Minister and the Governor personally inspected the doctors’ quarters, patient wards and development projects being carried out under the Provincial Specific Development Grant (PSDG) within the hospital premises.
Following this, the Health Minister participated in a discussion held with the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, medical specialists, doctors and nursing officers and inquired about the hospital’s operations and requirements.
The Hon. Member of Parliament S. Sribavanantharasa, the Chief Secretary of the Northern Province, the Secretary of the Provincial Ministry of Health, the Provincial Director of Health Services of the Northern Province and the Regional Director of Health Services – Jaffna also joined the inspection visit.
