“Even if you produce high-quality products, their demand largely depends on effective packaging and marketing,” said the Hon. Governor of the Northern Province, Mr. N. Vethanayahan. “Therefore, I extend my sincere thanks to UNIDO for educating you on these vital aspects and more.”
A workshop for local entrepreneurs, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), was held today, Wednesday (23.07.2025), at the Thinnai Hotel. Participating in the event, the Governor addressed the gathering and further stated:
“I am pleased to welcome you all to this important workshop on packaging innovation and export readiness. In today’s global marketplace, packaging is not merely a technical aspect, it reflects the quality, safety, cultural identity, and professionalism of our products. Whether it is spices from Jaffna, garments from Kurunegala, or minerals from the Eastern Province, the way we present our products to the world matters significantly.”
We envision a future where Sri Lankan companies are recognized not only for the reliability of their products but also for the excellence and innovation of their packaging.
We are actively working to simplify and streamline the export process so that even ordinary citizens can engage in export activities. We believe this goal is within reach and that it will open up valuable opportunities for small and medium-scale entrepreneurs, the Governor concluded.
