His Easter Sunday message further states:
The resurrection of Jesus Christ, triumphing over the darkness of death, reminds humanity of the eternal truth that hope overcomes suffering, love conquers hatred, and light dispels darkness. It inspires us with hope for the new life that is born through dedication and commitment.
For the people of the Northern Province, the message of ‘resurgence’ brought by Easter Sunday holds profound significance. Our Province, having overcome numerous challenges and difficult circumstances in the past, has today risen with renewed confidence under the special care and guidance of the His Excellency the President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. I firmly believe that this spirit of revival will serve as a strong impetus for the economic growth of our Province, the reconstruction of our social fabric, and the overall improvement in the quality of life of our people.
At the same time, let us pray together on this auspicious day that the economic and social repercussions of the ongoing global conflicts, particularly in the Middle East, do not affect our country, and that peace and prosperity prevail throughout the world.
We must cultivate in our hearts the noble virtues of love, patience, forgiveness, and sacrifice taught by Jesus Christ, setting aside ethnic and religious differences, and further strengthening harmony and coexistence among our communities. To achieve our shared vision of a ‘Prosperous Northern Province,’ the unity and joint commitment of all people are essential.”
