The meeting between the Hon. N. Vethanayahan, Governor of Northern Province and world bank delegates held yesterday evening (01.10.2026), Thursday at Governor’s Secretariat.
During this, discussion was made in detailed regarding the various projects to be carried out in Northern Province under the world bank funding.
Specially, it focused on the contracting process of the projects, next steps for its implementation and inclusion of the Government – Private Partnership in carrying out them.
Further, the delegations stated that discussions are to held with the business community regarding the inclusion of the government – private partnership in the Jaffna Fort development project.
This meeting marks a crucial step toward effectively implementing these projects and strengthening coordination to meet the development needs of the Northern Province.
The Secretary to the Governor, Sivapathasuntharam Sathyaseelan also participated in the discussion.
