Following COVID 19 pandemic outbreak in Sri Lanka in March 2020, Northern Provincial Department of Indigenous Medicine initiated preventive measures to control the spread by introducing Indigenous Medical packages for self-quarantined, high risk field staff working as a close contact separately. Totally 18033 number of people were included in this task.
In order to review the efficiency and outcome of the supplied medical packages, a survey was conducted and the results are presented through given graphs.
Though the total population received package was not included 11% (1976) of population were followed up.
Feedback of usage of Medical package as preventive aspect is described in Figure 1 based on Districts. It demonstrates, out of 1549 subjects who were followed up 18 did not use the package. Remained all who used the package did not get any symptoms related to respiratory system.
At the same time, in every District above 90% of the subjects who already had Vatha, Pitha and Kapa symptoms related to respiratory system got improvement after taking the medical package (Figure 2).
Accordingly remarkable effectiveness is observed by this medical package.
