Governor Dr. Suren Raghavan said that Northern Province Road Safety Week will be held from 07th October to 13th October.
A discussion in this regard was organized by Northern Province Road Safety Council at Governor’s Secretariat yesterday (17).
Implementations through Road Safety Week to raise awareness among the people for controlling the increasing number of road accidents were discussed.
The matters related to road safety such as conducting awareness programme on road safety at various levels throughout the province, establishing students’ traffic divisions in schools, honouring a good drivers, picking up the police stations which meet less accident cases and displaying police models at frequent accident prone area were also discussed.
Chairman of Road Safety Council, Chairman of Northern Province Road Safety Council, Director of Provincial Road Development Department, Commissioner of Motor Traffic, Senior DIG of Police for Northern Province, Police officials and other relevant officials also attended this meeting.
