The use of loudspeakers is prohibited due to GCE A/L Exam – Media Release

It has been observed that loudspeakers are used in various ceremonies and occasions to disrupt students who are currently studying for the GCE Advanced Level Examination. Students and parents have expressed their concern about this.

Governor of the Northern Province, Dr. Suren Raghavan, has asked the organizers of events and ceremonies to regulate the use of loudspeakers for the benefit of the students.

The Governor of the Northern Province has issued a directive to the Northern Province Deputy Inspector General of Police, Government Agents of the five districts of the province and the Provincial Local Government Commissioner to take action to enforce appropriate rules and regulations regarding the use of loudspeakers which will cause a disturbance.

This year, the GCE Advanced Level Examination, which begins on August 5, will be completed on August 31. Fifteen thousand two hundred and thirteen (15,213) school candidates in the Northern Province and three thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven (3,857) private candidates will sit for the exam. It should be noted that Advanced Level Examination will be held at two hundred and seventeen (217) examination centers in the Northern Province.
